My experience with Infotech provided me with the education and learning skills that I needed to achieve a rewarding and successful career in Medical Billing.

I had one of the greatest instructor  with a directed  goal to each individual student, that made me take a big step in life, also receiving satisfaction in job placement with best opportunity to grow in any medical field.

Objectives

InfoTech Career College prepares students to achieve their future goals in the chosen field of professional career in accordance with the following objectives:

To assist students in achieving these objectives, InfoTech has established a professional environment consisting of:

• Hands-on training on modern equipment used in a professional workplace-stimulated environment;

Enrollment

The enrollment process for a student enrolled in distance education courses are equivalent to the procedures used for traditional classroom course. All policies and procedures pertaining to registration, drop/add, withdrawal, etc. are applicable to distance education courses.

Academic Standards for Distance Education

1. All distance education courses offered by Infotech Career College will offer the same quality, standards, and rigor as Infotech Career College face-to-face courses, and will be consistent with the misson of the college.
2. When a course is delivered through distance education, it will carry the same course number, title, and credit as other traditional sections of that course at Infotech Career College.
3. All distance education courses must provide communication and feedback between students and faculty member(s) teaching the course.
4. Each distance education course must include an assessment of that delivery mode in its procedures for monitoring and assessing student performance.
5. Each student enrolled in a distance education course shall have access to all the traditional academic support services, instructional equipment, and campus events and other non-academic activities that Infotech Career College provides to other students.  Support services may include but are not limited to academic advising, counseling, library services, bookstore and other learning resources, computer access, tutoring services, and financial aid.
6. To be in compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, all programs, services, and activities offered by Infotech Career College must be accessible to and usable by person with documented disabilities who have met the technical and academic standards for admission.

Attendance Policy

InfoTech Career College’s attendance policy is designed to ensure that students maintain satisfactory academic progress in all of the courses required in their program of study. Students are expected to attend all classes, be on time to classes, remain in class for the entire duration of the class, and be an active participant in their classes.

Student Grievance Policy and Procedures

A grievance procedure is available to any student who believes that a grade has been erroneously awarded, who feels that an action to place him or her on probation or suspension is unwarranted or who believes that a Centre decision or action has adversely affected his or her student status, or rights and privileges. The purpose of this procedure is to provide a prompt and equitable process for resolving student grievances. Many questions or concerns that students have can be resolved simply through discussion. Students with concerns should observe the following steps in seeking problem resolution:

1. Communicate with the appropriate faculty or staff member and identify the issue;
2. Communicate with your academic advisor or student services representative;
3. Communicate with the program director;
4. Unresolved concerns can be appealed to the Director. The Director has the responsibility of reaching a decision that balances the both the interests of the student and of the Department of Distance Education. Students with grievances should first complete a written statement. All concerns must be put in writing and submitted to the Director. Grievances shall be submitted within 15 days of the action in question. The Director will review the grievance with all parties concerned and will issue a decision. The decision of the Director is final. The Director’s actions may include approval or denial of the petition, change in grade, removal from probationary status, or reinstatement in cases of suspension.

Overview

Infotech Career College offers two types of visas for international students, namely, an F-1 Student Visa and an M-1 Student Visa.

Student Visas

Students who come to the United States to pursue full-time academic or vocational studies usually apply for one of two nonimmigrant categories. The F-1 category includes academic students, and the   M-1 category includes vocational students.

M-1 Visa

Students must first apply to study at a BCIS approved school in the United States. Infotech Career College is an approved school in great State of California. If you are accepted, the school will give you BCIS  Form I-20 M-N/ID (Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant (M-1) Student Status – For Vocational Students). If you require a visa, you should then take the Form I-20 to the nearest U.S. consulate and obtain a student visa. Take only the BCIS Form I-20 from the school you plan on attending for visa processing at the U.S. consulate.

You must also be able to prove to the consulate that you have the financial resources required for your education and stay in the United States.

F-1 Visa

Students must first apply to study at a BCIS-approved school in the United States. Infotech Career College is an approved school in great State of California. Pre-Requisites

All Students seeking admission in Infotech Career College must satisfy the Academic and Financial Requirements. Students must present sufficient financial documentation, assuring that they will be financially secure while pursuing their education. All applicants who need a Form I-20 or Form IAP-66 to obtain a student or Exchange Visitor visa must complete and sign the Infotech Career College Application and show proof of financial support for at least the first year of study.

A certified bank statement/(s) must be submitted which confirms sufficient funds to cover all expenses. This bank statement/(s) must indicate both the current balances of the account and the date the account was opened. Funds must be indicated in equivalent U.S. dollars

A Vocational Nurse provides patient care and can work in a hospital, long-term care facility, convalescent home, doctor’s office or surgical center. The Vocational Nurse often works under the supervision of RNs or doctors.
Vocational Nurses can advance in position and salary by specializing in a field of medicine that is most interesting to them, such as maternity, pediatrics, geriatrics, or mental health.

The Vocational Nurse also has an advantage should he or she wish to obtain an RN. Many of the training programs offered for RNs will give preference to those with experience in the field.

Job Prospects for Vocational Nurses are excellent due to the high demand for nurses and increasing needs of the aging population.

What will I learn?

Infotech Career College provides a standardized Vocational Nurse curriculum that is approved by the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT). In the Vocational Nursing program, you will learn Medical-Surgical nursing, Pharmacology, Rehabilitative Nursing Care, Maternity Nursing, Pediatric Nursing, Hospice / Home Health Nursing, and Leadership.

Graduates of the Infotech Career College Vocational Nursing program are eligible to take the NCLEX-VN in order to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN).

How long is the program?

This program is 14 months, which includes both theory and clinical training at local health care facilities.

What do graduates do?

As a Vocational Nurse, your career opportunities are excellent. The need for Vocational Nurses has been projected to grow for the next 20 to 25 years. You may find work in nursing homes, clinics, wellness centers, skilled nursing facilities, correctional facilities, hospitals, and home health agencies. You may also further your education by pursuing training to be a Registered Nurse.

What will I learn?

Infotech Career College provides training in both basic didactic and advanced didactic components. You will learn infection control, skin puncture techniques, venipuncture techniques, blood sample collection and processing.

How long is the program?

Students in this program attend class for a total of 6 Saturdays. Then, upon successfully passing the certification exam, students complete an externship in which they must complete a total of 50 venipunctures and 10 skin punctures. This program is highly recommended for candidates who have completed training in or are already working in the health care field.

What do graduates do?

Demand for Certified Phlebotomy Technicians continues to grow. Phlebotomy Technicians may find work in medical offices, diagnostic labs, or traveling clinics.

Working closely with patients, Nurse Assistants are responsible for basic care services such as bathing, grooming and feeding patients, assisting nurses with medical equipment, and checking patient vital signs. Nurse Assistants give patients important social and emotional support and also provide vital information on patient conditions to nurses.

Being a Nurse Assistants can be a stepping stone to becoming a Vocational Nurse or a Registered Nurse.

What do Nurse Assistants do?

Nurse Assistants work in nursing homes, hospitals, mental health facilities, assisted living facilities, and private homes. Job prospects for Nurse Assistants are expected to be excellent due to the increasing long-term care needs of an aging population.

How long is the Program?

The Infotech Career College Nurse Assistant program is a total of 6 weeks.

At the end of the program, students take a State Certification exam in order to become a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA).
